Details:

Majority of the time will be spend in the shipping dept. with the following tasks-

  • Receiving incoming material

  • packaging and crating outgoing product

  • driving stand up and sit down forklifts

  • accounting for and documenting inventory

Driving will be done on an "as needed" basis to move product and material between our four facilities in the West Michigan area and picking up product from suppliers.

Product Design Engineer

Description:

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Developing required engineering documents. Consulting with chief engineer when necessary for non-standard projects or changes to standard components that cannot be used across the board.

  2. Providing engineering support to purchasing, PIC, Customer Service, Project Managers and Manufacturing on changes, problems and processes.

  3. Ensuring all data inputs and processes are followed, developed and maintained, including but not limited to K-Briefs, design tables, excel spreadsheets, ProCad, ECR’s and ECN’s, F&O structure, proto parts, and design reviews.

  4. Create accurate computerized part masters and bills of material to support the manufacturing process

  5. Investigate, collect data, evaluate, and make recommendations as necessary to complete assigned projects.

  6. Work towards continuous improvement in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Whew, now that we’re through that, you are probably wondering what we are looking for?

  • We need someone who can do drafting, bill of material creation, manufacturing process development, and product design in their sleep.

  • Being comfortable engineering custom orders is a must. Our supermarket and retail customers rely on our displays to help their products fly off the shelves without taking up a lot of space.

  • Working at a fast pace and as a team are essential in our environment. It’s not uncommon for our engineers to be working on several projects at once and you will frequently find them bouncing ideas off each other.

  • Communication and flexibility are extremely important as it will be necessary to communicate not only with internal staff but customers and suppliers as well. In addition, things can change pretty quickly in our market so we need someone who can roll with the punches to get the job done.

Mechanical Engineer

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design refrigeration systems through the use of engineering formulas, programs, and concepts. Analyzes and establishes engineering concepts and solutions relating to the development of new and existing products.

Requirements:

Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Proven knowledge of refrigeration principles and practices

Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCad or similar software

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Setup and operation of 200 ton Bystronic Brake Presses

  2. Adjustments to programming to ensure parts meet engineering specifications

  3. Use calipers and other machining tools to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications

What are we looking for?

  • We need someone who can handle a low repetition, high variety work environment. Our Brake Presses a high variety of parts in low volume runs which means things are constantly changing.

     

  • Our Brake Press Setup/Operators complete their own setups and adjustments to the programming using blueprints developed from engineering. We are looking for someone who can do more than just operate machines.

     

  • Because the parts you would be working on are rapidly changing throughout the shift, we need someone who is a whiz at industrial math and calipers because every new set up requires verification that the parts are formed correctly.

     

  • Have set up and programming experience on CNC Mills and Lathes? We have found that that experience works well and is transferrable in our Brake Press Set Up/Operator positions.

Experienced Laser Operator

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Assembling food display cases on a line, in a team, or in an assembly cell using power, pneumatic, and hand tools.

  2. Wiring lighting, power, and refrigeration sources in display cases to ensure proper operation.

  3. Execute and maintain proper inventory transactions within department.

  4. Maintain housekeeping standards within department.

What are we looking for?

  • A high level of mechanical aptitude is needed to take the parts required and build our display cases using blueprints and the necessary tools. Due to the custom nature of our product line, it is extremely important to be able to interpret the information provided with the display case for proper assembly.

  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable and have experience using a variety of hand and power tools.

  • This position will not consist of standing or sitting at a desk assembling. The ideal candidate must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, standing 8-10 hours, bending, twisting or kneeling while working, climbing a ladder to assist in assembly.

Details:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes improvements in the production areas: by developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods, while utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Confers with planning and design staffs concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

  • Assists in the creation of work standards, routings, and work instructions which will be utilized during the production process.

  • Coordinates “Kaizen” type events for the purpose of process improvements.

  • Assists in creating an atmosphere with a “lean” way of thinking, and utilizes “lean” principles while driving process improvements.
