Mechanical Assembler

Description:

Structural Concepts is a leader in design, engineering, and manufacturing of custom refrigerated display cases for the retail and food service industry. Ever walk into a convenience store and pick up a pre-made sandwiches for lunch from a refrigerated island display? We make those islands displays. Or when you stop at the grocery store to pick up donuts for that get together from the display case with glass doors? We make those cases too!

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Assembling food display cases on a line, in a team, or in an assembly cell using power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
  2. Wiring lighting, power, and refrigeration sources in display cases to ensure proper operation.
  3. Execute and maintain proper inventory transactions within department.
  4. Maintain housekeeping standards within department

Requirements:

What are we looking for?

  • A high level of mechanical aptitude is needed to take the parts required and build our display cases using blueprints and the necessary tools. Due to the custom nature of our product line, it is extremely important to be able to interpret the information provided with the display case for proper assembly.This also requires a candidate to be able to retain and recall information about each case, without an instruction manual. 
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable and have experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • This position will not consist of standing or sitting at a desk assembling. The ideal candidate must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, standing 8-10 hours, bending, twisting or kneeling while working, climbing a ladder to assist in assembly.

Position Description:

1. Staffing – develop and maintain policies and procedures designed to attract and maintain a fairly compensated work force.

  • Coordinate the recruitment efforts, screening, interviewing, and testing process of all candidates before they are hired.
  • Consult and advise in all staffing changes; hiring, transfers, demotions, promotions and terminations

2. Salary and Benefits Administration- Develop and maintain policies procedures and an overall compensation format reflecting consistency with company philosophy and value system.

3. Employee relations- devise well- defined and consistently enforced polies on issues designed for win-win employee relations.  Act as the conscience of the organization in issues of fairness, ethics, integrity so as to foster mutual trust and commitment.

4. Communications- foster and environment and programs that augment two-way communication, straightforward communication and trust in the organization.

5. Policies- Prepares and disseminates personnel polices consistent with objectives, strategies, and plans which will serve as guidelines for all members of the organization.

6. Organizations- organizes, leads, and maintains a Human Resources Staff required to achieve stated objectives through the clear assignment of responsibilities and determination of appropriate resource needs in terms of personnel service skills, funds, and time.

7. Nonunion work environment- All objectives policies and procedures should foster this environment.

Requirements:

Specific Job Function Experience:

Human Resource knowledge within a medium to large organization with multiple facilities. Experience leading a small Human Resource team.

Respect, care, and understanding with regards to fellow management, co-workers, and employees. Fair and consistent leadership ability. Ability to use decision making skills and complete in-depth problem solving.

Education/Training Requirements:

Degree in Human resources and at a minimum 5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Professional with experience in the 7 areas listed in the position description above.
