Product Design Engineer

Description:

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Developing required engineering documents. Consulting with chief engineer when necessary for non-standard projects or changes to standard components that cannot be used across the board.

  2. Providing engineering support to purchasing, PIC, Customer Service, Project Managers and Manufacturing on changes, problems and processes.

  3. Ensuring all data inputs and processes are followed developed and maintained, including but not limited to K-Briefs, design tables, excel spreadsheets, ProCad, Ares, ETO, MPFS, ECR’s and ECN’s, F&O structure, proto parts, and design reviews.

  4. Create accurate computerized part masters and bills of material to support the manufacturing process

  5. Investigate, collect data, evaluate, and make recommendations as necessary to complete assigned projects.

  6. Work towards continuous improvement in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

Whew, now that we’re through that, you are probably wondering what we are looking for?

  • We need someone who can do drafting, bill of material creation, manufacturing process development, and product design in their sleep.

  • Being comfortable engineering custom orders is a must. Our supermarket and retail customers rely on our displays to help their products fly off the shelves without taking up a lot of space.

  • Working at a fast pace and as a team are essential in our environment. It’s not uncommon for our engineers to be working on several projects at once and you will frequently find them bouncing ideas off each other.

  • Communication and flexibility are extremely important as it will be necessary to communicate not only with internal staff but customers and suppliers as well. In addition, things can change pretty quickly in our market so we need someone who can roll with the punches to get the job done.

Mechanical Assembler

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Assembling food display cases on a line, in a team, or in an assembly cell using power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
  2. Wiring lighting, power, and refrigeration sources in display cases to ensure proper operation.

Requirements:

What are we looking for?

  • A high level of mechanical aptitude is needed to take the parts required and build our display cases using blueprints and the necessary tools. Due to the custom nature of our product line, it is extremely important to be able to interpret the information provided with the display case for proper assembly.This also requires a candidate to be able to retain and recall information about each case, without an instruction manual. 
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable and have experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • This position will not consist of standing or sitting at a desk assembling. The ideal candidate must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, standing 8-10 hours, bending, twisting or kneeling while working, climbing a ladder to assist in assembly.

Regional Truck Driver

Details:

Our Truck Drivers operate a tractor/trailer-type rig to pick up, transfer, and deliver products, materials, supplies, equipment, etc., as directed by dispatch orders and shipping documents.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Maintenance of Equipment
    • Ensure equipment is safe and in good operating condition. 
  • Safety Inspections
    • Hitch and secure tractor to trailer couplings. Check load for weight, clearance requirements balance, and travel requirements to avoid shifts or damage in transit or emergency situations. 
  • Planning
    • Plan city travel routes for shortest distance to destinations. Avoid restricted trucking lanes and areas. Pull trailer to destination and park at shipping docks or other locations as directed.
  • Routing
    • Plan over-the-road routes for best mileage, bypasses, stop-overs, etc.
  • Reimbursements
    • Obtain signatures for deliveries and sign shipping documents for loads picked up. Follow prescribed procedures for the purchase of fuel, services, repairs, lodging, meals, and other expenses that may occur. All reimbursements must have a signed receipt.
  • Awareness
    • Maintain a regular check on tractor and trailer to ensure all travel requirements such as fuel, lubrication, brakes, tire pressure, cooling system, battery, running lights, etc.
  • Equipment Handling
    • Judgment and operating skills are required to operate the rig over-the-road, position trailer at loading docks, and maneuver rig in crowded areas.
  • Equipment Cleanliness
    • Equipment must be washed before bringing it back to the plant.
  • Safety
    • Comply and help others to comply with all safety and plant cleanliness policies.
  • Paperwork
    • Prepare all documentation for entire trip: payroll, bill of landings, and all expense receipts by 8a.m. on Tuesday following trip.
  • Appearance
    • Must keep neat and clean appearance, as well as have a good attitude.
  • Housekeeping
    • Responsible for ensuring your area is clean, uncluttered, and professional looking.
  • Assist in the Training of Department Work Force
    • This is to include, but not to be restricted to existing departmental employees, new departmental employees, temporary interdepartmental assistance, co-op employees, and temporary employees.

    • Responsible for the delivery of products in such as quality and safe manner that satisfies our customers' requirements.

  • Specific Job Function Experience
    • Two to Three year over-the-road/regional truck driving experience would be helpful.   
  • Customer/Market/Industry Experience
    • Experience in dealing with the retail merchandising and/or the contract furniture business would be beneficial
  • Product/Service Experience
    • Previous experience working in conjunction with shipping to meet our customers' need on a timely basis.
  • Organizational Environment Experience
    • Multi-shift, non-union manufacturing company. Must understand the importance of doing your part in achieving corporate and department goals.
  • General Abilities
    • Must be self-motivated and action-oriented approach to all responsibilities and assignments. Must display a sense of urgency in organizing time in order to meet our customers' delivery requirements. 
  • Education/Training Requirements
    • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have a commercial driver's license, with an excellent driving record.
