Product Design Engineer

Description:

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Developing required engineering documents. Consulting with chief engineer when necessary for non-standard projects or changes to standard components that cannot be used across the board.

  2. Providing engineering support to purchasing, PIC, Customer Service, Project Managers and Manufacturing on changes, problems and processes.

  3. Ensuring all data inputs and processes are followed developed and maintained, including but not limited to K-Briefs, design tables, excel spreadsheets, ProCad, Ares, ETO, MPFS, ECR’s and ECN’s, F&O structure, proto parts, and design reviews.

  4. Create accurate computerized part masters and bills of material to support the manufacturing process

  5. Investigate, collect data, evaluate, and make recommendations as necessary to complete assigned projects.

  6. Work towards continuous improvement in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Whew, now that we’re through that, you are probably wondering what we are looking for?

  • We need someone who can do drafting, bill of material creation, manufacturing process development, and product design in their sleep.

  • Being comfortable engineering custom orders is a must. Our supermarket and retail customers rely on our displays to help their products fly off the shelves without taking up a lot of space.

  • Working at a fast pace and as a team are essential in our environment. It’s not uncommon for our engineers to be working on several projects at once and you will frequently find them bouncing ideas off each other.

  • Communication and flexibility are extremely important as it will be necessary to communicate not only with internal staff but customers and suppliers as well. In addition, things can change pretty quickly in our market so we need someone who can roll with the punches to get the job done.

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Assembling food display cases on a line, in a team, or in an assembly cell using power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
  2. Wiring lighting, power, and refrigeration sources in display cases to ensure proper operation.

What are we looking for?

  • A high level of mechanical aptitude is needed to take the parts required and build our display cases using blueprints and the necessary tools. Due to the custom nature of our product line, it is extremely important to be able to interpret the information provided with the display case for proper assembly.This also requires a candidate to be able to retain and recall information about each case, without an instruction manual. 
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable and have experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • This position will not consist of standing or sitting at a desk assembling. The ideal candidate must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, standing 8-10 hours, bending, twisting or kneeling while working, climbing a ladder to assist in assembly.

ERP Business Analyst

We currently have an opening for an ERP Business Analyst!

Details:

This position provides Epicor ERP support to system users throughout the company, with minimal supervision. This entails evaluating user needs, defining technical problems, and finding solutions. Position requires communication and rapport with users in other departments.

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Provide Epicor ERP support users, including interviewing and interpreting information from the user, identifying the requirement, determining the solution and communicating back to the user.
  2. Complete testing of system modifications after installation. Write procedure documents for newly installed modifications and operating procedures.
  3. Organize application user training.
  4. Write, maintain, and troubleshoot database queries using the ERP system Query tool.
  5. Write, maintain, and troubleshoot dashboards based on database queries using the ERP system Dashboard tools.
  6. Write, maintain, and troubleshoot Crystal and SSRS reports in both the ERP system and PLM system based on database queries.
  7. Communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  8. Analyze large quantities of data, meet scheduled deadlines, and understand product data needs and implications of incorrect data entry.
  9. Communicate project status to Director of I.T. on a regular basis.

Requirements:

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Business Analyst or similar role is preferred. Experience supporting ERP systems in a manufacturing facility is also required, preferably with Epicor ERP 10. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must have experience in managing multiple projects at once. Experience with ERP system implementation and/or ERP system upgrade is a huge plus.
  • This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects in a technical environment. Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of information systems techniques, and flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Tact and the ability to deal effectively with people in a consultant capacity will also be required. Good people skills and a propensity toward teamwork are important.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent experience

Document Engineer

What will you be responsible for?

Create computerized drawings, part masters, routing and bills of materials to support product and manufacturing process. Process basic engineering change requests, including revising drawings, bill of materials, and routings. Assist in administration of change management and perform various other Engineering Department assignments as needed.

  • Prepare detailed drawings showing dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  • Create computerized part masters and bills of material to support product offering.
  • Prepare CNC documentation, draw floor plans, layouts, assembly drawings, spec sheet drawings, and engineering standards as required.
  • Determine the labor, equipment, and process for each part number and enter routing information into ERP system.
  • Process engineering change requests having less complexity, initiate revision notices and assist product engineers on projects.
  • Proceed on detail with minimum supervision after assigned instructions are given, guidance and assistance provided on new work and variations.

Requirements:

What are we looking for?

  • Experience using AutoCAD and Solidworks software packages. 1-3 years’ experience in detail drafting and related drafting assignments to become familiar with product designs and standard detail drafting procedures. 
  • Knowledge of supermarket and retail merchandising a plus.
  • Exposure to fabrication of display product, electrical, and refrigeration.
  • Worked with modular product (supermarket merchandising preferred) which can be assembled in multiple configurations to meet customer needs. Work in a multi-functional department where responsibilities are varied.
  • Flexible to communicate with internal personnel in solving day-to-day problems. Flexible to meet increased time demands caused by seasonal business. Enjoy working in an atmosphere where teamwork, trust, and cooperation are fostered and where personal initiative is encouraged.
  • Two years of college/technical school in engineering related field required; in lieu of college/technical school, high school diploma and 2+ years’ experience in fabrication, assembly, drafting, computer, and electrical wiring.
